An Integrative Nutrition Health Coach is a guide and mentor who empowers you and provides ongoing support and guidance to set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness.
As your Health Coach, my goals for you, align with you. Everyone is multi-dimensional and bio-individual which means we are all unique and wonderful in our own ways. All too often, medical practitioners can view their clients in a one-size-fits all fashion. Eat this or take that and they send you on your way. This blanket approach does not work.
If you are needing support from a diet/nutrition stand point, I will help you navigate the world of diet culture and contradictory information we are bombarded with daily. From sleep issues to stress, anxiety and depression, we will work together to find the root source of your issues and tackle them step by step. This isn’t a quick fix and it does take commitment, but together, I know we can achieve lasting health.
Change Begins Within
4-7-8 breathing technique is a pattern of breath developed by Dr. Andrew Weil. It’s based on an ancient yogic technique, pranayama, that was used to help practitioners gain control over their breathing. Specific patterns in breathing that involve holding your breath for a period of time allow your body to replenish its oxygen. From the lungs out, this technique can give your organs and tissues a much needed oxygen boost.
The 4-7-8 relaxation process helps bring the body back into balance and regulate the fight or flight response that we feel when we are stressed. Chronic stress syndrome is very real and can be the underlying cause to so many ailments. Yes, diet and exercise are a part of a healthy lifestyle but it is only just a part. Chronic stress syndrome can lead to full body inflammation, and ultimately that inflammation will lead to disease. We live in a society where we wake up stressed and “try” to go to sleep - often too stressed to adequately do so. With daily messages to do more, eat less, and don’t forget your exercise, it’s no wonder we wind up on medications for life. We need to re-evaluate. There are ways to combat stress and anxiety without medication. There are ways to eat without restriction. There are ways to exercise and it’s not a chore.
